After these two crazy weeks, there’s only one way to start off their blog posts other than with Rachael and Jon! Their weekend was a double header along with Leah and Charlie’s wedding the day after. Following that, there was a long week of engagement sessions and preparing to go out of town for the Amy & Jordan Workshop! Oh, and there was also the Come Together Event with Amy & Jordan and Katelyn James on Thursday! What a crazy two weeks it has been, but like I said, there is no better way that I would like to share those experiences with you than to start it off with these two…
There’s only one possible place to begin with these two and that is their beginning. As I’ve said time and time again, Jon and Rachael met in a church group. While this may not seem significant, it will forever change the way they think of their relationship and the way they live out their marriage. I met these two at Red Robin for their consultation and we had an amazing time getting to know each other. Rachael is so inspiring from when she got to teach in China and then there is Jonathan who manages his own trucking company! They deliver your mail to local post offices!! I would have never even known that was a thing without him!!
Anyways, Rachael and Jonathan’s wedding was one of a kind because of the special elements they incorporated. Rachael is pretty amazing (notice I keep saying this..) and she did every single detail of the wedding herself! How insane is that?! The ribbon on her dress, the florals, her flower crown, the reception decorations, the ceremony set-up, the sparkler exit, etc. She. Did. Everything. She blew me away with how everything was executed!
Something special about their wedding was that they did not want alcohol at the wedding. Whether it prevented people from drinking and driving or whether it prevented people from feeling terrible the next day, this was such an amazing choice! They ended up getting cute little soda pop bottles. The reason this stuck with me was because Rachael and Jonathan ended up going to go get to coke bottles in the middle of Bride + Groom portraits and just happened to pick up two bottles that read “soul mates” on them. They didn’t even plan that!! So of course we had to photograph that monumental event!
Jonathan and Rachael treated myself and Jennifer like we were a part of their family and we couldn’t have appreciated that anymore. Jon and Rachael, thank you so much for having us a part of your amazing day. That day only comes once and we were blessed to share it with you. You had a killer wedding and there was no better way to end it than you did with your gorgeous sparkler exit. Congratulations Rachael + Jonathan!
