3 Essential Day-Before Wedding Tips

Wedding Tips

I know there are so many things on your mind as you are wedding planning and how hard it can be to try and remember every last detail! By the time it comes for the week of your wedding, you are just ready to relax and let everything fall into place. If you are like me, I like to be super prepared for everything and that is why I make checklists!

For the day before your wedding, I always request these 3 steps to be taken by my brides so their wedding day can flow nicely and they don’t have to deal with any unnecessary interruptions!

1) The first step that I request of my brides is to gather all of your details in a container and have them ready for me in a designated area on the wedding day. These details include a full invitation suite – this is a BIG one and it is often forgotten so please try and remember this one! If you don’t have one yourself, your mom probably will or a guest coming to the wedding – ask around and make sure you have one. πŸ™‚ Other details to remember seem obvious but sometimes they are forgotten as well such as your shoes (ceremony and reception if you have separate pairs), any jewelry you are wearing include bracelets, earrings, necklaces, etc. This also includes all of the rings (your wedding bands and your engagement ring) so I can take your ring shots and not have to worry about chasing you down later at the reception. I also request any heirlooms that you are incorporating into your big day, your garter, veil, a mirror (optional), jewelry box (optional), perfume (this is a BIG one – perfume looks amazing when it is photographed I love when brides bring one of their favorites). Any other details that you would like photographed, I always request that they are put with the rest of the details listed above so everything is in one neat place.

2) Request that the bouquets are delivered to wherever you are getting ready and not the ceremony location. Typically, there is not enough time to photograph the bouquets when we get to the ceremony until after the ceremony and they usually don’t look as good at that point of the day. Plus, there is usually a lot better lighting and more locations I could photograph the bouquets at where you are getting ready, so please have the bouquets delivered to the getting ready room. πŸ™‚

3) Sleep, stay hydrated, and moisturize! These are often forgotten in the hustle and bustle of wedding week, but are extremely important. When you are energized, hydrated, and your skin is moisturized, you will be at your best to be photographed and everyone should look their best on their wedding day!

PS: Don’t forget to relax and have fun! Things happen and nothing is always perfect so don’t let it get you down if something goes wrong! Your wedding is about the love and relationship that is being celebrated that day and not all of the little details you picked out so perfectly. It’s going to be amazing regardless and you need to remember to cherish this moment because you only get to do it once! πŸ™‚
