I am so thrilled to be sharing today’s engagement session from Roanoke, VA with Rachel and Daniel! These two have such a unique relationship that truly tugs at some heart strings…
Daniel and Rachel are two of the most committed sweethearts I’ve ever heard of to this day. Rachel currently resides in Salem, VA where she is an event coordinator, which I could CLEARLY see throughout her intricate planning for their engagement session! From her adorable tulle skirt, to the hair & makeup, to the color of his shirt, Pinterest was her best friend. I LOVED it! Daniel currently lives in Tennessee and even though they don’t get to see each other every day, they still make it work. I can’t even begin to state how much this means to me because I truly understand how hard long-distance relationships are! I am SO excited for her to finally get to live with her husband after they tie the knot later this year!
I remember how Rachel told me that one of their favorite things to do together is ride in the car together just chatting about life with each other. They truly appreciate the little things in life because they truly don’t get that much time with each other. Living life to the fullest is what they live for. Daniel is able to make Rachel laugh so hard that she almost cries every time! Having a love like that and making every moment count and making it happy is what every relationship should live for! Especially during your engagement – it only happens once so make sure you cherish it all! Watching Daniel and Rachel when they look at each other is epic – he beams from cheek to cheek every time she laughs or smiles.
We spent the length of a very few short months planning their engagement session, which to this day, has got to be one of my favorites. Going to Roanoke for an engagement session has always been on my bucket list because it is such a beautiful location! I just love the mountains, tall grass, and beautiful backdrops that the entire area gives off. When she told me that she was interested in using one of her close friend’s family farm for the session, I could not be more excited! We sent Pinterest ideas back and forth, photos of the location, and got more excited everyday. By the time we arrived for their session, I just couldn’t believe it was here already!
We started out with their more casual outfit that screamed date night all over. I just could not get over how well she accessorized with all of her clothes. Daniel and Rachel took us on a tour of the land and it was just SO gorgeous. There were mountains everywhere, tall grass, beautiful trees, and fields that stretched for miles. Oh wait, the best part?! THERE WERE COWS. They were so stinking cute – I couldn’t even handle it! We pretty much went off-roading in his jeep a few times going from location to location and it was such a fun experience. I definitely didn’t feel like this was work at all – can we talk about the best job on the planet here?
After we took some photos with the gorgeous mountains and near the tree that I couldn’t stop obsessing over, they changed their outfits to something a little fancier! I about died over her tulle skirt and jean jacket. And can we talk about her necklace?! Rachel seriously needs to just dress me everyday or take my credit card and fill up my closet for me. Tulle skirts are probably my favorite piece of clothing in the world – they are just so cute and so feminine! I swear, I don’t belong in this timeframe – I’m such an old soul. Of course the first thing I had them do with such a cute skirt was having her twirl all over and plenty of dips! Eek!
