Kristen + Daniel

The Couple

Would you believe Kristen and Daniel are naturally introverts after looking through these photos? Yeah, me either.

We decided to have their engagement session at home instead of venturing out and about because if they had a choice, Kristen and Daniel would stay in everyday, order some takeout with some scotch and binge watch movies and tv shows. Maybe The Flash or Gilmore Girls? Kristen and Daniel have lived apart for quite some time now due Kristen being in Boston studying psychology! Because of this, whenever they get the time to be together, they make every second count. They’d rather spend time with each other cuddling on the couch binge-watching Netflix than sitting in a crowded restaurant.

The Proposal

One of the coolest proposals I’ve ever heard about was Kristen and Daniel’s. I mean, they were in PARIS when it happened! How amazing is that?! Daniel proposed to Kristen in Paris on a dinner cruise and it just so happened they weren’t the only two that got engaged there that night. Right aftter Daniel proposed, someone started speaking over the loudspeaker announcing someone’s engagement. Kristen and Daniel most definitely don’t like being the center of attention so they were shocked that this happened. Little did they know, the couple sitting right next to them got engaged too and the person on the loudspeaker was talking about them! Thank goodness! While the other couple was serenaded by the live band and the cheering audience, Kristen and Daniel enjoyed celebrating vicariously through them. It was so fitting for them! 🙂

The Session

When I arrived to Daniel’s house the day of their engagement session, I walked up their stone steps and through the beautiful red-tinted wood doors. I was immediately greeted by Kristen with a sweet hug and introduced to Daniel’s childhood pup, Chloe! She’s a little dachshund/terrier mix and is the cutest little hot dog in the world. His mother was in the kitchen tidying up. Kristen and Daniel went into the kitchen to brew some fresh coffee while I got my gear set up.

I chatted with the two of them as we started their session at the kitchen table in the dining room. It was such a gorgeous room and lit SO well by their giant glass doors. We ventured on in the living room where they could relax some more and open up to each other. It is very common for engagement sessions to be the first time couples are photographed together and this was the case for Kristen and Daniel. And boy, they told me that they were introverts and so nervous for this session but I feel like they did an amazing job by how these photos turned out!

I really love that they chose to break the "norm" and make their session true to them by staying home and snuggling on the couch. It’s so nice to have those photos in a natural, casual setting like that. You did such a great job capturing it all!
