Hi there! Welcome to the blog, a journal about my life, weddings, portraits, our home, and more. Stay a while and say hello!

Katee + Tyler

The Couple

Believe it or not, Katee and Tyler were one of the first #jesscouples ever from a while ago! I absolutely love getting to photograph these two and their kiddos every year because it feels like such a tradition. It’s also extremely sweet and I feel honored that I get to photograph them and watch their family grow. How cool is it that their family has grown right alongside my business? I first met Katee when I was working with another photographer to do “boudoir marathons”. Kristina & I decided to move away from that part of our businesses, but it was still a fun time! And Kristina & I are still the best of friends. Kristina’s actually my maid of honor in my wedding this October. 🙂

The next time I photographed Katee was at an anniversary session for the two of them and her son before they were even engaged! We went to Maymont Park in Richmond, Virginia and it even snowed! It was the cutest. Looking back at those photos, I can’t believe how much my work has grown and their sweet family has as well. The next session together was their engagement session and then their wedding last year! It’s now been almost a year since their wedding so it was time for their aniversary session.

The Session

Katee put SO much planning into this session and it was completely worth it. She rented a gorgeous dress from Rent The Runway, had her wedding florist make her a bouquet and found the most perfect location ever. They even drove an hour and a half from Williamsburg where they live out to King George just for this photo session!

We started the session in the driveway that was lined with gorgeous evergreens and took some family portraits with the two of them, their son, and their sweet new little girl! We then ventured on over to house and took some beautiful portraits and I just had to get some detail photos of her bouquet. It’s just so whimsical and dramatic.

These are stunning! I love her dress, the bouquet is gorgeous, and the location is beautiful! What an awesome thing that y’all are so close that she is your maid of honor! That is so cool, and must feel so amazing!

I love when couples add flowers to non-wedding sessions. Always so pretty.
