Jordan + Tyler

The Couple

Jordan and Tyler got married last weekend at Amber Grove Inn in Richmond, VA and they have such a sweet story!! The two of them met at James Madison University through a mutual friend who was absolutely positive that they would hit it off! I guess she was right, because look where they are now! More in love now than they ever have been before!! After they were set up, it only took about 3 months for them to end up dating. One of my favorite parts of their story is their proposal that Jordan told me all about!! One of Tyler’s favorite things in the world (besides Jordan, of course!) is the Ole Miss Rebels. He got the two of them tickets while they were playing in Orlando, Florida so what could have made it any better?! A trip to Disney, duh!! 🙂

They made a road trip out of the whole thing and Jordan was just so stinkin’ excited. She is obsessed with all things Disney related so this was seriously a dream come true! The last time this sweet girl had been to Magic Kingdom was through the Make a Wish Foundation when she was 3 years old with her family where they thought it was definitely going to be their last family vacation together. This girl is a survivor and thrives so well and has a smile that can light up the entire world! She is always smiling no matter what is happening and it is really such a wonderful and positive influence on everyone around her. She shines so bright, y’all! Back to the proposal – at the end of their day at Magic Kingdom, they got to watch the epic fireworks display and Tyler led her down to Cinderella’s castle! They went across the gorgeous bridge and took in the view and Tyler was down on one knee before Jordan knew it! It is one of the most magical, romantic, and heartfelt proposals I’ve ever heard about and I’m so happy for them!!

The Wedding

Jordan and Tyler heard about me through one of my brides (and her sister/maid of honor) last year, Rachel and I was just so excited for their wedding day! I arrived to the bridal suite to find Jordan with the biggest smile on her face as she finished getting her hair and makeup done. She was absolutely stunning and glowing the entire day!! After we finished getting her into her dress, we stepped onto the porch during a little sprinkle and got some amazing bride and bridesmaids portraits! You’d never know it was raining by looking at her and her girls!! Fun little fact – cloudy days are a much better friend for photos than a sunny day because the light is so soft and not harsh which helps to avoid raccoon eyes! 🙂 Jordan did a daddy daughter first look with her dad and they are seriously starting to become one of my favorite parts of the day! Just look at her dad’s reaction!! 🙂 The groomsmen were up next with portraits and they were so fun to work with! They joked around a ton and they were having an amazing morning.

Then it was time for the ceremony in Amber Grove Inn’s gorgeous barn – did you SEE the gorgeous blooms that welcomed guests as their ascended the stairs to the barn?! Over The Top Flowers killed it again!! 🙂 The ceremony was SO sweet and I LOVED their curtain backdrop and all of the twinkly lights. The two lovebirds shared the sweetest vows and had their first kiss and left the ceremony in the biggest of smiles!! 🙂

The Reception

One of my favorite things I like to ask my couples is what their favorite dessert is! I literally laughed out loud when Jordan told me that Tyler is so NOT a fan of desserts, but she loves to bake (just like me)! On their first Valentine’s Day together, she made SO many different cookies and brownies and an entire cake and he choked down quite a few of them before he was honest that he doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, haha! However, he LOVES pecan pie and that is why they decided to have little mini pecan pies out during the reception! They were SO good and they were from Kroger’s – to this day, I wish we had a Kroger in Fredericksburg so bad.

After the ceremony ended, we got the family photos done quickly (thank you Jordan and Tyler’s family for being so amazing and organized!!), had fun with the wedding party, and then snuck away for some amazing bride and groom portraits!! When we were finished, we entered the reception where Jordan and Tyler partied the night away with their sweet friends and family who couldn’t have been more happy for them. And y’all – can I get an AMEN on the gorgeous lighting on the dance floor?! Plus, look at the gorgeous black and white checkered dance floor!! IN LOVE!! I am so happy for the two of you, Jordan and Tyler – congratulations!!! Have so much fun in Aruba!! 🙂
