With this week marking the beginning of a new year, I thought it was the perfect time to share our engagement photos from last year with Nikki Santerre Photography! With that being said, I totally thought I would share these photos so much sooner, but college & life got in the way and I honestly never got the chance to share them with y’all! With it being 2017 now and the year of our big wedding celebration in October at Rock Hill Plantation, I am more excited than ever for the big day!
For our engagement session, we traveled to Afton, Virginia to Swannanoa Palace and spent the day there with Nikki and Matt! I met Nikki through another photographer-friend, Kimmie and even second shot for both of them for a while! Through those second shooting jobs, we became close friends and I couldn’t think of anyone else I’d want photographing our big day and our engagement session! Following our engagement session, we headed on over to a local winery and just hung out with each other. It was such a nice time to get to spend with the two of them and Colby before he left this spring for his deployment!
Speaking of which, I cannot WAIT for him to come home this spring! 2017 is going to be an amazing year and I am looking forward to his homecoming and our wedding celebration in October the most! And on another note, Colby and I have something very special we would like to share with everyone…but first – enjoy our engagement pictures! 🙂Thank you to this sweet girl for being such an amazing friend, photographic, and soon-to-be amazing mommy!! 🙂Anddddd for Colby & I’s big news! We are excited to announce to everyone that this past March, Colby and I, along with our parents, eloped at our local courthouse and said our “I Do’s” in a small, intimate ceremony. While we know that this may come as a shock to many friends, we are still having our big celebration this October and look forward to celebrating there with you! Back in March, we just felt the time was right and we were so ready to become husband and wife and didn’t want to wait two years until he was back from deployment for our wedding day to finally say “I Do”. So we went to the local courthouse and made it official and have been enjoying our first year of marriage together. However, we would love more than anything to be able to share it with everyone as well so we are finally sharing it with y’all! 🙂
