Maternity Photos DC | Goodwin Maternity Session

Photographing maternity photos in DC will always be an all-time favorite type of session! As DC’s premiere maternity photographer, I have photographed numerous maternity sessions and they never get old. The Goodwin family joined me at our field location in Manassas, VA where many of our clients choose to have their outdoor portraits taken. It’s such a timeless and stunning backdrop. It isn’t too close to the road, so if you have children, it’s a safe spot. It’s a big open field, so there aren’t any distractions either! And the best part of all? It is extremely easy to access and even has a visitor center with a parking lot and restrooms.

The Goodwin family is one of my baby plan members and this was their first of four sessions with me! Their sweet baby girl joined us at the studio for her newborn photos, and I cannot WAIT to share those with you too. But of course, I had to share their stunning maternity images first! Isn’t this mama just glowing?!

How Maternity Sessions Work

Maternity sessions typically are done outside at our field location or in the studio. A lot of families love outdoor maternity photos before they add a baby to the mix. It’s usually the last little hurrah before being stuck inside for some time! However, if it’s winter (super cold) or late summer (very hot) and the weather isn’t the most appealing, I’m always a sucker for a good maternity session in our studio. All of our sessions include the full family, so if you have other children, they’re welcome to join! Fur babies are welcome to tag along to outdoor sessions as well.

For all of our portrait sessions, we include professional hair & makeup in your booking fee! We have curated the best professional hair & makeup artist team, and they always do a phenomenal job. Ivett did this mama’s hair & makeup for her maternity session, and she knocked it out of the park! We also hand-style the entire family for every session. We have a luxurious wardrobe of over 150 (and counting) dresses for moms to choose from. We even have children clothing up to size 5T for big brother/sister! 🙂
